DESCRIPTION
The Palace of Culture of Herrera del Duque constitutes the town’s main cultural facility and a landmark within the La Siberia region. It is a public building conceived as a multifunctional space intended for the promotion, dissemination, and development of cultural activity.
Located on Calle Feria, the building features modern and functional architecture, perfectly integrated into the urban environment, and has a large surface area housing various facilities dedicated both to education and cultural programming.
The complex includes an auditorium, stage, dressing rooms, classrooms, library, screening rooms, exhibition spaces, and administrative offices, as well as an outdoor stepped plaza intended for open-air events.
HISTORY
The Palace of Culture was inaugurated on February 4, 2011, as a result of collaboration between the Regional Ministry of Culture of the Junta de Extremadura and the Town Hall of Herrera del Duque.
Since its opening, the building has established itself as the municipality’s principal cultural center, centralizing artistic, educational, and social activities while responding to the cultural demands of the population and surrounding area.
HISTORICAL-ARTISTIC DESCRIPTION
The building follows a contemporary model of cultural infrastructure, characterized by its functionality, spaciousness, and versatility of use.
With a surface area exceeding 1,700 m², the complex is organized around different areas that allow the simultaneous development of multiple activities. These include the auditorium, equipped for stage performances, film screenings, and concerts, as well as classrooms intended for musical and cultural training.
Services integrated within the building include the Public Library, the Telecentre, the Municipal School of Music, and the Popular University, consolidating the building as a leading educational and cultural space.
The design incorporates universal accessibility criteria, with spaces adapted for people with reduced mobility, guaranteeing access to and use of all its facilities.

The Palace of Culture is closely linked to the associative and cultural fabric of Herrera del Duque, hosting the activities of groups such as dance ensembles, rondallas, music bands, cultural associations, and brotherhoods that contribute to the preservation and dissemination of local traditions.

The building houses technical and cultural facilities intended for stage, musical and exhibition activities, as well as bibliographic collections integrated into the Public Library, constituting an important cultural resource for the locality.
